We're at the Grand Canyon, named so because it's the grandest of all canyons. On 03/31/2011, a day after Jason & Dyani's 12-year-anniversary, during an impromptu 2 half days & 1 night trip to the GC, the family sets up the camera on a garbage can for this scenic and memorable moment! Miyuki just turned 6 a mere 11 days earlier and Hiromi turned 4 two months prior.
What a great picture! Hiromi is 3 & Miyuki is 5--and just a few weeks off from starting school for the first time. We're all in the inflatable above-ground pool at Jason's parent's house. In this picture Dyani is some 40 or more pounds lighter than the last family portrait.
Hiromi: age 2. Jason: age 37. Dyani: age 32 (exactly). Miyuki: age 4.
This year, on March 30th 2009, was the 10-year anniversary of Jason & Dyani's 1st kiss!... Though this picture was actually taken on Dyani's birthday (this time). Still, 10 years "together"... that's something!
Even after 150 photos of the family, there was not a single one where everyone was looking up and someone was not throwing a fit (in a few, the fit-thrower was ME due to Hiromi whacking me in the nose with her hair brush), therefore this photo has been so heavily altered that some would not believe the hours put into it. Each person was added in from a different picture, all the legs, hands and the couch had to be recreated.
In 2007 Hiromi was born and our family became complete. Jason and Dyani got a little wider and a little tired-er. Okay, a LOT tired-er! Ha! This picture was taken during Miyuki's 2nd birthday "party".
Some of these "family portraits" are simply a good shot of the family ('good' meaning that we're all looking at the camera, we're all wearing clothes, or "enough" clothes, and none of us is screaming) during everyday life. This picture was taken on Jason's birthday, we're going out to eat to celebrate!
Miyuki was born in 2005, consequently our household grew by 2 feet. Ha ha ha! This photo had to be doctored some due to bad lighting, Miyuki's massive amounts of drool and my extra shiny face. No biggie.
In 2004 Jason & Dyani got married on the 5th anniversary of their first kiss, thusly creating the Johnson-Cordray family. This was actually taken on another day at our wedding reception.
